Lewat single "Boom Boom Pow"nya, The Black Eyed Peas berhasil menggoyang industri musik di seluruh dunia, selama dua belas minggu berturut-turut berhasil menduduki chart pertama di AS. Sedangkan single keduanya, I Gotta Feeling dari album The End dinominasikan memperoleh Grammy Award 2009.

Sama halnya dengan Beyonce. Berkat rilis ulang albumnya yang berjudul "I Am...Sasha Fierce", salah satu mantan anggota dari Destiny Child ini sudah dinominasikan untuk tiga grammy dan video yang berhasil memenangkan berbagai penghargaan di seluruh dunia.

Tak terkecuali, Lady Gaga. Penyanyi eksentrik ini berhasil menjual empat juta kopi lewat debut albumnya "The Fame".

Penyanyi country sensasional Taylor Swift mungkin tidak menjadi penyanyi favorit Kanye West, tetapi tidak menghentikan penjualan albumnya di tahun 2009. Kepiawaian penyanyi berusia 19 tahun ini dalam dunia tarik suara sangat mengesankan. 8 nominasi Grammy dari albumnya yang diberi nama Entertainer of the Year membuat Taylor menjadi penyanyi termuda yang menerima penghargaan di Country Music Award.

Tetapi, kejutan terbesar dalam musik tahun ini diraih Susan Boyle. Berkat kesuksesannya dalam you tube pada album "I Dreamed A Dreamed" yang menduduki puncak tangga lagu teratas di Inggris dan US.
