Kerangka wanita seberat 55kg dan setinggi 120cm berasal dari 4.4 juta tahun yang lalu ditemukan. Ardi, merupakan manusia tertua yang ditemukan oleh para arkeolog sejauh ini.

Usia kerangka ini merubah catatan dunia mengenai usia kerangka manusia yang pernah ditemukan.

Penemuan yang berlokasi di Etopia ini memberikan bukti bahwa simpanse dan manusia sebagai nenek moyang kita, berevolusi dengan cara berbeda.

Penelitian kini difokuskan pada penemuan nenek moyang manusia sebenarnya. Siapapun itu, para ilmuwan percaya umurnya sekitar 6 - 7 juta tahun yang lalu dan bisa saja terbaring di tanah ini.
