Phil Spector akhirnya dijatuhi hukuman penjara 19 tahun atas pembunuhan artis Lana Clarkson. Hakim di Los Angeles Jum'at (29/5) menjatuhkan hukuman tersebut atas dakwaan pembunuhan tingkat dua dan penggunaan ilegal senjata api. Produser musik legendaris itu juga diharuskan membayar ganti rugi. Hukuman tersebut diberikan kepada pria 69 tahun tersebut karena terlibat pembunuhan fatal terhadap Clarkson di rumahnya tahun 2003.

Spector telah menjalani beberapa sidang pemeriksaan. Yang pertama berakhir tahun 2007 dengan "Deadlock" para juri. Persidangan Spector selelau dittayangkan di televisi. Namun mulai tahun 2008, persidangan Spector tidak boleh diliput lagi. Spector berencana untuk naik banding atas keputusan ini.
